Cao, Cassidy, Fleming hammered for voting against the stimulus package

February 3, 2009

Louisiana Republican Congressmen Joseph Cao, Bill Cassidy and John Fleming all voted against the stimulus package, and now the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee is making them answer for their votes. Radio ads began running today in the 2nd, 6th, and 4th Congressional districts, letting constituents know that their Republican Congressmen are voting against creating new jobs.

And of course, fellow Republican Congressmen Charles Boustany, Steve Scalise and Rodney Alexander also voted against the stimulus package. Along with Republican U.S. Sen. David Vitter, they’re establishing quite an early track record of obstructionism against President Barack Obama. If they keep it up, when it’s time for their re-election campaigns, Louisiana Republicans won’t be able to point to one single piece of legislation they voted “yes” on to help America and Louisiana’s struggling economy.
